Belgium is just behind Montenegro, the European country with the worst air quality.
So indicated VTM on Sunday evening, on the basis of a new international report.
The main problem is so-called fine particles. The blame is squarely placed at the door of diesel vehicles.
“Each year, such fine particles cause 12,000 premature deaths in our country,” Hans Bruyninckx of European Environment Agency, implicating the 3.5 million diesel vehicles currently on the road in Belgium.
