Dutroux wanted to create “an underground child colony” says former lawyer

Marc Dutroux's “brainwave” was to create an underground colony of abducted children.
So reveals his former lawyer Julien Pierre in an interview with Soir Mag on Wednesday.

The lawyer recalls that Marc Dutroux had once confessed to him, “Have you ever realised that nobody has ever ever asked why I selected that house in that area?” He allegedly added that there were “several tunnels and mines in this region”. He then told his lawyer that his plan was to “abduct swarms of children in these underground locations, these deep mines, creating a form of underground city where kindness, harmony and safety reigned.”

“It was upsetting to hear Dutroux speak of that. Believe me, I know very well what a psychopath is, probably better than many psychiatrists,” the lawyer confides. “Major facets of Dutroux's personality were overlooked.”
