Paracommandos have gift of further assistance from newly-formed battaillions

“When sorrows come, they come not single spies. But in battallions!”, as Shakespeare claimed. However, it is battallions of a different kind which are, in fact, needed to overcome the war on terror in Belgium. The 1,800-strong military, which is currently assisting the federal police, will take advantage of further military reinforcements.

The Ministry of Defence is preparing dozens of military battallions to carry out highly necessary surveillance tasks. Het Laatste Nieuws and De Morgen are both featuring this highly pertinent issue in their Wednesday edition.

The staff being deployed are from the air force. The military will be as visibly present as possible in the streets from this summer as, fortunately, the paracommandos and infantry currently are generally.

Trade union sources enthusiastically state that, “At the beginning of their training these battallions learn basic skills, which they should keep up-to-date, as well as training for the efficient completion of surveillance tasks.”

By adopting this approach the Ministry of Defence is desperately hoping to relieve the horrendous pressure on the military.
