Terrorist Threat - More than 740 millions euros spent to fight terrorism
The point has been, once again, highlighted that funds allocated in the fight against terrorism over the last two years amount to more than 740 million euros.

The federal government will in total when spent have injected a 740 million euro budget to cope with the terrorist threat which has increased during the last two years. This is reported, on Monday, in the Sudpresse publications.

There are still 100 million euros to allocate for this financial envelope. The 640 million euros already committed have, in particular, allowed for the implementation of the so-called “Plan Canal” (the plan to combat Islamic radicalism). This has committed the engagement of the resources of 100 people from the State Security Service and 92 agents for information services in Defence, station security and, indeed, the purchase of materials.

“In a way, we have had to start from a blank slate and imagine that Belgium has never taken this high terrorist threat so seriously. There were clearly frameworks to put in place,” stated the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Charles Michel.
