Child benefit will be 120 to 160 euros a month in the Walloon region (Prévot)

The vice-president of the Walloon government, Maxime Prévot (CDH), has said child benefit in the Walloon region will be 120 to 160 euros a month per child. He said this during an interview which was published in La Libre Belgique on Saturday.

Regions have been in charge of child benefit since the sixth State reform. Child benefit in Wallonia is less than in Flanders, where the government stopped an allocation of 160 euros per child.

“The social reality in Wallonia is different to Flanders and Brussels”, the vice-president said.

He hopes that regionalisation will be in place by the 1st January 2019.
