Numerous accidents occurred yesterday. This was in particular owing to the waterlogged roads, the Flemish Traffic Centre indicated. On the Brussels ring road, around fifteen vehicles were involved in a multiple-vehicle collision, in the Wemmel area.
Peter Bruyninckx, the spokesman for the regional road traffic centre stressed, “There were a great many accidents for a Sunday, in particular in Brussels but also in Ghent and Antwerp.”
He went on, “No doubt, this was linked to the weather conditions.”
