The fight against social fraud has brought in 20 million euros more than in 2015

The fight against social fraud has already brought in more than 200 million euros this year. It brought in 180 million euros last year, the State Secretary Philippe De Backer told the news program VTM on Sunday midday.

“We are going to step it up a notch to preserve jobs in sectors like construction”, Mr De Backer added. It said it is important for social security, the preservation of salaries, the fight against working on the black, and the fight against social dumping (foreign workforce being cheaper because of fewer social rights).

The government is working sector by sector. “We have agreements with the construction, transport, and cleaning sectors to deal with their specific problems”.
