“Remaining part of the non-visa program for the United States will not be easy”

Belgium needs to provide more information so its citizens can continue to travel to the United States without a visa. “We have just 90 days and it won’t be easy. We are under the United States’ microscope”, the State Secretary for Asylum and Immigration Theo Francken told L’Echo and De Tijd.

De Tijd revealed an American delegation visited Belgium in November, and its report on Belgium is due in March.

Theo Francken also talked to L’Echo about the Publifin affair. “We will always have this 10 year old image of Di Rupo in our heads, saying “I’m sick of takers”. We can see the takers are still there. It’s unbelievable”.
