There have never been so many “cyber incidents” in Belgium. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT.be) received 1,341 descriptions of hackings, website shut downs or Internet offences last year.
De Tijd is reporting this today (Friday).
CERT.be provides a central database of all reports linked to malware, phishing attacks, DDoS attacks and others.
Last year, the CERT.be team identified a total of 1,341 such accounts per month - a record. These come, amongst others, from specialist companies and other countries.
The number of accounts of “cyber incidents” in Belgium has multiplied by a factor of ten since 2010.
The federal government is due to present its cyber security programme today (Friday).
