The number of electric cars sold in Belgium increased by 34.9% to 788, in the first quarter of 2017. This is according to the most recent figures from the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (known as the ACEA).
Within the European Union, this figure went up to 24,592 in the first three months of the year, or an increase of 49%.
Sales of hybrid vehicles increased by 49.2% to 2,275 cars in Belgium.
