Prices of houses, villas and apartments increased in 2016

The average prices of ordinary houses, villas and apartments increased again in 2016 in Belgium, according to provisional figures published Tuesday by FPS Economy. The average price of an ordinary house was 212,488 euros (+4%), the price of a villa was 349,901 euros (+2.2%) and an apartment cost 221,411 euros (+0.4%).

On average, Brussels is the most expensive region, with average prices in 2016 of 412,578 euros (+2.1%) for an ordinary house, 1,008,176 euros for a villa (+10.4% ) and 235,119 euros for an apartment (+2.2%).

In Wallonia, a typical house cost an average of 157,276 euros in 2016 (+1.4%), a villa cost 272,099 euros (+0.7%) and an apartment cost 173,354 euros (+1.9%). All categories experienced a price increase in 2016, although this increase is slightly lower than in 2015, noted the administration.

In Flanders, a typical house cost an average of 228,589 euros (+2.9%) in 2016. A villa cost an average of 374,741 euros (-0.1%) and an apartment cost 227,923 euros (-1.3%).
