Bruges: 75,000 spectators in Golden Tree pageant

The Golden Tree pageant, which takes place every five years over two days, had attracted some 75,000 visitors to Bruges by Sunday. The organisers Brugge Plus and the Bruges City Council are satisfied with this 13th such event. This folk procession has existed since 1958. It relates the timeline of Bruges's past up until the 16th century.

The first part of the procession is devoted to the major Flanders events and the second part to the marriage of Charles the Bold and Margaret of York, who was English. This year, some 1,700 performers have taken part in the event.
