Localised storms and thundershowers are expected towards the end of the day in the southern half of Belgium, according to a storm alert issued on Friday by the Royal Meteorological Institute. There will not be much high-altitude wind and the downpours could therefore result in large quantities of rain falling in a short amount of time, the Institute noted. There is also a risk of hail.
Depending on the provinces, the storm warning will be lifted between midnight and 2 a.m.
