Eurovision 2018: Laura Groeseneken to represent Belgium in Eurovision Song Contest
Laura Groeseneken appeared on Thursday night’s broadcast of “Van Gils & Gasten” on Eén. This is the main Flemish television channel owned by VRT.

The singer, Laura Groeseneken, will represent Belgium at the next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. This will take place in Lisbon in May 2018. The young Leuven resident, aged 27, is a song interpreter and writer. Since 2014, she has been on stage performing with Ozark Henry.

Laura Groeseneken appeared on Thursday night’s broadcast of “Van Gils & Gasten” on Eén, the main Flemish state television channel. She performed her interpretation in English of the Portuguese song “Amar pelos Dois” (“Love for Two”), by Salvador Sobral. He won the European competition for Portugal this year.

Eén mentioned that in 2012 Laura left a strong impression during “007 in concert”, when performing her interpretation of “Tomorrow never Dies”. This was on the 50th anniversary of the cinema incarnation of James Bond. He is the character created by the writer Ian Fleming.

Since 2014, Laura has sung and played on stage alongside Ozark Henry, with whom she has produced both in Belgium and abroad. When they first appeared together at Rock Werchter, she delighted the public, attending the festival with her powerful voice.

Laura is also an instrumentalist. She plays the melodica and the piano, and has written several songs. She also wrote “Gravity” with Alex Callier, for the group Hooverphonic. The song became internationally renowned when it was used by the Cacharel brand for a perfume publicity campaign. At the moment, Laura is devoted to her solo career and writes her songs using the name Sennek.
