The strike blocking the operation of the FN Herstal site facilities is preventing the group from delivering around 300 parcels per day. This is nearly €300,000 in daily turnover and is reported on Tuesday in L'Echo.
The Browning International distribution operations, which go out of Herstal, ensure direct distribution to around a dozen European countries or nearly 2,000 gunsmiths. Its employees deal with nearly a thousand orders (payments, packaging, dispatch and all other stages). These combined operations represent in terms of dispatch, around 300 parcels and a daily turnover of some €300,000.
The figure above is the minimum daily loss amount for the Herstal group, with the strike movement decreed by the FGTB (the Belgian General Labour Federation). We must not overlook the consequential loss for customers. Commentators are already confirming today that Browning International is no longer in a position to guarantee customers a quality service, owing to successive strikes. The viability of the European distribution centre in Les Hauts-Sarts is therefore under threat.
