De Bruyne championed in the BBC’s Premier League XI of the Year
De Bruyne has been the best producer of assists (18), second in terms of touches (3,405) and in fifth place as regards passes (2,556).

Toby Alderweireld, Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard feature in the BBC’s Premier League XI of the Year established on the basis of Internet votes. More than 115,000 individuals have chosen their team. De Bruyne is the player most voted for: he was in 90% of teams submitted by participants.

De Bruyne was championed on the basis of his impressive performances during the last twelve months. He has been the best producer of assists (18), second in terms of touches (3,405) and in fifth place as regards passes (2,556).

Alderweireld has come fifth overall. Some 52% of Internet voters included the Red Devil in their team. Harry Kane (78%), David de Gea (75%) and Mohamed Salah (69%) are inserted between the two Belgians. Nearly 50% of voters opted for a 4-4-2 configuration.

The BBC’s final Premier League XI of the Year is as follows: De Gea (Manchester United) - Walker (Manchester City), Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Alderweireld (Tottenham) and Alonso (Chelsea) - Coutinho (Liverpool), De Bruyne (Manchester City), Silva (Manchester City) and Hazard (Chelsea) - Salah (Liverpool) and Kane (Tottenham).
