CGRA delivers report on Sudanese migrants to Minister Jambon
Minister Jambon's department is yet to comment upon the contents of the report.

On Thursday evening, the Minister for the Interior, Jan Jambon (N-VA), received the report written by the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRA).
It concerns the likely torture of Sudanese individuals sent back to their country of origin by Belgium.

A spokesman for the minister provided information about the production of the report.

The Commissioner General, Dirk Van den Bulck, sent the report to the minister on Thursday evening. A copy was also sent to the Prime Minister, Charles Michel. The report will be both presented and discussed on Friday in a meeting of the relevant Cabinet committee. Minister Jambon’s department has not commented upon the contents of the report.

The Minister for the Interior had been asked by the government, shortly before the Christmas holidays, to request an independent investigation by the CGRA into such potential cases of torture.
