One-third of SNCB’s trains equipped with new information screens

The national railway service, SNCB, is currently equipping the information screens of its Desiro trains with content enabling real-time communication throughout the duration of a journey. Almost all the Desiro trains (four out of five), which run on the S line, transporting 260,000 commuters daily, now have the new screens, the SNCB said on Tuesday in a press release. These new screens have “a new, brighter layout, train connections and possible disruptions updated in real time and a precise posting of services and accommodations in each station,” the utility stated.

"Information on in-station access for persons with reduced mobility will soon also be posted on the screens,” the SNCB announced. “Business information for travelers, particularly about events near approaching stations (additional trains to festivals and concerts, exhibitions in stations) and about special rates (weekend tickets, for example) will also appear on these screens in the near future.”
