Flanders had 184,00 job seekers at the end of May. That's 16,962 (8.4%) less than a year ago, the Flemish Employment minister Philippe Muyters said on Friday. The previous month's record drop of 7.7% was beaten yet again.
Unemployment has dropped in all age categories in the North of the country and is now at 6.04%. "Month after month, we are beating records in the Flemish job market", Philippe Muyters said.
Unemployment has dropped so much that there has been concerns about recruitment in several Flemish businesses.
