Perpetrator of the Liège killings sought to buy weapons
Investigators are presently studying the avenue that Joey Leclerc may be an accomplice of Benjamin Herman, who executed the Liège killings.

Benjamin Herman, the perpetrator of the Liège killings, sought to buy weapons. RBTF stated the position on its website on Thursday. Information compiled by the channel indicates that at least one prisoner might have spoken to investigators. The witness said that Benjamin Herman has spent a lot of time, in recent weeks, with a man by the name of Joey Leclerc. Leclerc converted to Islam in prison, and has been imprisoned as a  radicalised individual since 2016.

Furthermore this information from RTBF suggests that Leclerc had also requested prison leave, so as to go out at the same time as Benjamin Herman, but was unable to successfully obtain it.

RBTF further said that investigators are presently studying the avenue that Joey Leclerc may be an accomplice of Benjamin Herman. In saying this, it points out that the information has come from a source close to the investigation.

The prisoner, who confided in investigators, also spoke of a third man Yassine Dibi, serving a 27-year prison sentence for robbery offences. The fellow prisoner has stated that Herman, Leclerc and Dibi “stuck together in the exercise yard all the time.”

Since the Liège killings, Dibi and Leclerc have been placed in solitary confinement.
