New leak in Panama Papers

New leak in Panama Papers

Two years after the Panama Papers’ revelations, a new data leak now concerns 1,2 million documents from the Mossack Fonseca law firm, reports Wednesday De Tijd, Knack and Le Soir, which are part of the media consortium having investigated these documents. The new leak concerns papers going from April 2016, following the first Panama Papers, until the end of 2017.

It is once again the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung who put its hands on the documents. These give an idea of the in-house maneuvers within the much-contested law firm, which had to close last year.

These concern e-mails, identity documents copies, company data and legal documents. It would seem that new details are given on offshore constructions in connection with such personalities as footballer Lionel Messi or Argentinean President Mauricio Macri.
