The 20 to 22 July weekend is expected to be especially busy on the roads, warns Touring Monday. The traffic will be red for departures on holiday routes and orange for returns. “It will be practically impossible to avoid traffic jams,’’ warns the mobility organization. The traffic will be difficult in particular on Friday and Saturday in the direction of departures in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Spain.
In the direction of departures, Friday should not present any problem in particular (green). Saturday, however, is classified red in Germany and Switzerland, where many traffic jams are expected. In France, Austria, Italy and Spain, the traffic will be orange on Saturday. Sunday, the traffic will remain orange in Germany and Switzerland, but no problems are expected elsewhere.
“Touring advises departing on Sunday. The best day to return is Friday and, in a lesser measure, Sunday,’’ concludes the organization.
