    July was abnormally hot and sunny, says IRM

    The month of July was «”very abnormally” hot in Uccle, according to the latest monthly climate report by the Royal Institute of Meteorology, IRM, released on Wednesday. The average temperature was 22 degrees, as against a normal average of 18.4 degrees. The highest daily temperature, 35.4 degrees, was registered on July 26 and 27, while the lowest, which was on July 18, was 12.5 degrees.

    The amount of sunlight was also “very abnormally” high, totalling 298 hours and 10 minutes, way ahead of the average, which was just 200 hours.

    It rained on only five days, equalling a 1989 record. Belgium usually averages just over 14 days of rain in July.
