The names of around 20 extreme-left and extreme-right militants are on OCAM’s watch-list, the Het Nieuwsblad, Gazet van Antwerpen, Het Belang van Limburg and De Standaard reported on Saturday.
OCAM’s list has been extended by royal decree. The database no longer focuses exclusively on radicalised Muslims. This means 23 names have been added to the list. These include 16 extreme-left sympathisers and 7 extreme-right sympathisers.
The first 16 people are violent anarchists from French-speaking group La Cavale. They are being investigated by the Prosecutor’s office. They are opposing the construction of Haren prison.
The extreme-right members include a man from Eastern Flanders, head of the Neo-Nazi group ‘Bloed, Bodem, Eer en Trouw’. He has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for terrorism.
