Red Cross to sell 100,000 books to help the needy

The Red Cross will hold a big, second-hand book sale at its headquarters in Brussels from 13 to 18 November, offering the public over 100,000 used books at prices as low as 10 cents. Proceeds will enable the Red Cross to strengthen its action in the Brussels-Capital Region, particularly its efforts to help homeless persons.

The used-book sale will take place in the Red Cross ambulance garage. Novels, books on the arts, History and cookery, textbooks, biographies, and adventure and travel books will be available to the public in Dutch, English, French and other languages.

The shelves will also be filled with comics, children’s books, CDs, vinyl records and DVDs.

All prices will range between 10 cents and five euros, except for rare books and curios.
