Antwerp port will see out 2018 with a new record, having handled 235 million tons of goods (5.1% more than the previous year). This is the sixth consecutive annual record for the Belgian port.
Top of the list for the port is the transport of containers (130 million tons, a 5.8% increase compared to 2017). In Twenty Feet Equivalent Units (TFEU), that’s a 5.5% increase to 11 million TFEUs.
Dry bulk increased by 5%, followed by bulk liquid which increased by 4.5%. The amount of diverse goods that travelled through the port increased by 1.8%.
