Cannabis plantation discovered after fire in flat in Brussels

A 600 plants cannabis plantation was discovered by Brussels fire department, after a fire tore through an apartment building in Evere’s rue Stroobants. The fire started at 3.30 pm on Saturday, according to Brussels Prosecutor’s office spokesman Denis Goeman. No suspect has been arrested yet. The investigation is looking into both the accidental fire and the cannabis plantation.

The large plantation was found in the building’s cellar, and the early stages of the investigation have concluded that the fire was accidental and not started deliberately. The electronics used to help cultivate the plants could be the cause, but the origin of the fire has not yet been confirmed.

The investigation aims to find those behind the cannabis plantation and those behind the fire.
