STIB warns commuters to expect disruptions on Wednesday due to national strike
The Brussels public transport utility, STIB, has urged commuters to prepare for strong disruptions on its network on Wednesday due to the strike called by trade unions and to travel by other means if possible.

The FGTB, CSC and CGSLB trade union federations called a national strike for Wednesday after talks on a new inter-professional agreement for 2019-2020 broke down. The federations disagree with the limiting of salary increases to 0.8% for the next two years.

STIB expects the strike to affect its tram, bus and subway schedules. To better inform commuters, it will open its contact centre (070/23.20.00) from 06.00 a.m. on Wednesday. It will also continually post updates on its Internet site, www.stib.brussels as well as via Facebook and Twitter.
