The Carnival holidays will have a very patriotic and political flair for around a hundred youths from Brussels and Wallonia. The Brussels-Wallonia Federation Parliament will hold the 23rd Youth Parliament from Monday to Friday.
Over the course of the week, 120 people aged 17 to 26 will take part in a Parliamentary simulation, during which they will play the role of an MP, a minister or a journalist.
They will be asked to debate and vote on various projects and decrees. Four themes have been chosen for this year's Parliament: the fight against sexual violence in public areas, non-armed neutrality at international level, children’s well-being through parental responsibility and making beneficiaries responsible for health-care.
As usual, the Youth Parliament will also welcome a French-speaking youth delegation (from Quebec, Louisiana and Luxemburg).
