Previously declared dead, Belgian Jihadist proves to be alive

Abdellah Nouamane an Antwerp Jihadist, declared dead last summer, is actually alive. The terrorist organisation Islamic State had previously told the man’s mother that he had been killed, reported Het Laatste Nieuws and De Morgen on Tuesday.

The man, aged 23, is the son of Fatima Ezzarhouni, a woman from Antwerp. She campaigns against radicalisation and is involved in politics in the Flemish party the CD&V (Christen-Democratisch en Vlaams).

She had said that her son was dead, however, it seems that Ezzarhouni was misled. Belgian intelligence services have in fact discovered that her son is still alive and involved in Islamic State.
