Downpours, storms, but also hailstorms can be expected in this Wednesday's weather, the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) warned. "This afternoon and evening, after a blanket of rain, showers are forecast. They could be heavy locally, accompanied by storms and gusts of wind. Hail is not to be ruled out, mainly over the regions near France," the IRM, which issued a yellow warning for the whole country from 14:00 to 22:00, specified.
This means that 10 to 30 litres of water per m² could fall in 1 hour and there is a risk of strong winds locally or 1 to 2cm hailstones.
