A school in Namur was temporarily evacuated on Monday after personnel received letters threatening of a terrorist attack on school grounds, which authorities soon declared fake.

The letter was sent to staff and students of the Asty Moulin school in Namur, prompting school administrators to close down access to the premises at the beginning of the school day.

An investigation conducted by local police authorities quickly found that the threats were not credible.

“The deed of a bad joker,” police spokesperson Laurence Mossiat told La Dernière Heure.

Staff and students were able to resume their activities in the school at around 8:30 AM, according to the French daily.
