Belgium’s railway service, SNCB, announced on Friday that it would increase the number of trains to and from the Belgian coast over the next few days, due to the favourable weather forecast.

From Saturday 22 to Wednesday 26 June, an additional 34 trains, representing a total of over 31,000 seats, will be made available, the railway company announced.

These include 16 extra trains on Saturday and Sunday:  two per day from Liège to Ostend, one each day from Leuven to Ostend, and one per day from Hasselt to Blankenberge. Each of these trains will make the return journey in the evening.

The SNCB stated that travellers can benefit from a 50% reduction on all destinations in Belgium, thanks to the weekend ticket, valid from Friday at 7.00 p.m. to Sunday evening.

From Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 June, there will be 18 additional trains. Six of them (two per day) will leave Leuven for Ostend, while three (one per day) will leave Brussels-Midi for Blankenberge. These trains will also return in the evenings, with the train leaving Blankenberge ending its journey in Leuven.
