Thalys is satisfied with its results for the first half of 2019, which show a 4.8% increase in passenger traffic, according to the high-speed train operator, owned by Belgian and French utilities SNCB and SNCF.
Thalys’ summer season also looks promising, since ticket sales are already up by 13% compared to the corresponding period of last year.
The good first-semester results are due in particular to traffic on the Brussels-Paris route, both for Thalys and its low-cost version, Izy, which showed an increase of 22% in passengers transported between the two capitals.
