An accident occurred on Thursday evening on the E40 near Herve, on the road to Germany, the federal police stated.
According to a report from emergency zone 4 (Vesdre Hoëgne and Plateau), a woman was trapped in her vehicle. She was seriously injured in the accident. Firefighters from Herve as well as the Battice ambulance and Verviers SMUR mobile emergency and resuscitation unit were called to the scene.
As the vehicle was stuck in the middle of the carriageway, traffic could only use the left-hand lane.
