Four people including a man in his sixties have been arrested after more than one ton of cocaine was discovered in a shed in a small Antwerp municipality.
The arrest comes after federal police intercepted a container loaded with 1.2 tons of cocaine in the port of Antwerp at the weekend, according to VTM Nieuws.
The police decided against immediately confiscating the drugs, choosing instead to follow a truck who came to pick up the container at the port on Monday.
Three unidentified men in their twenties and one man in his sixties were arrested by police after the discovery.
They are expected to appear before a judge on Friday over charges drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organisation.
