A car registered in Belgium was involved in a shooting that took place in Rotterdam in the Netherlands on Sunday evening. 

A car registered in Belgium was involved in the incident, which saw a 26-year-old-resident seriously injured, said Dutch public broadcaster NOS.

According to witnesses, an automatic weapon was used to shoot ten shots around 9:30 PM on Sunday. The incident took place near a cafe on a very busy street.

Police have appealed to anyone who has information to come forward.

There have been 72 shootings in the Dutch city during the first half of 2019, which are as many as in the whole of 2018, NOS reported.
