Brussels Airlines will begin flying in November between Brussels and the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, following the filing of a bankruptcy petition by Slovenia’s sole airline, Adria Airways, on Monday.

Starting on 4 November, Brussels Airline will fly six times a week between Brussels and Ljubljana, except for Saturdays, with an Airbus A319.

Ljubljana is now the 19th European capital in the Brussels Airlines network, the Belgian carrier said in a press release on Tuesday.

Adria Airways on Monday lodged a request to start bankruptcy proceedings with the business court in Kranj, Slovenia, which has to issue its ruling in three days. In the meantime, all the airline’s flights have been cancelled.
