Reduced fees for French-speaking Belgians in Quebec Universities

An agreement that will facilitate access to Quebec universities for French-speaking Belgian students was signed on Thursday in Quebec City, the Prime Minister of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Rudy Demotte, said in a press release. The agreement reduces fares for Francophone Belgians, just like the system granted for the past few years to French students.

Based on data for the 2017-2018 academic year, the fees would now be Can$7,403 (about 4,748 euros) for the first-cycle as against Can$15,102 (9,685 euros) before the agreement, and Can$2,391 (1,533 euros) for the second and third cycles, down from Can$15,102 (9.685 euros) and Can$13,578 (8,708 euros) before the agreement.

“I strongly welcome the signing of this agreement, which supports social equality by raising the financial obstacle to access to Quebec universities for our students,” Mr. Demotte commented.
