New from 1/1/2018 : Additional income thresholds for the self-employed

The provisional social insurance payments made each quarter by self-employed persons will be more in line with their real income from the 1st of January 2018. The existing system will be made more flexible with the addition of four more income thresholds, bringing the total to six. As a result, the contributions payable by the self-employed will correspond more to their variable earnings.

For contributions payable in the first quarter of 2018, self-employed persons can now ask their social insurance agency to shift them to a lower threshold.
