ING Belgium speeds up the restructuring of its IT department

The ING bank will reduce its full-time IT workforce in Belgium this year, going from 1,215 to 1,000 full-time equivalents (FTEs), writes L'Echo on Friday. This “redeployment" will start in June and affect 1,215 full-time equivalents (FTEs). That number is expected to contract to 1,000 FTEs in December.

The bank confirms the reduction but wants to put the scope of its decision into relative terms, insofar as the lost jobs are partly external contracts (64 FTEs) and certain functions, for example specialised engineers, can be transferred to other departments within the bank.
