The lack of medicine affects 1,200 patients per year

According to a study done by the Belgian Pharmacists Association (APB), 1,200 people a year are put in danger by the lack in availability of certain medicines, La Dernière Heure said on Monday. In 35% of cases, this could have serious to very serious effects on the patient’s health.

The Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AFMPS) keeps track of which resources are not readily available. Currently, 224 medicines are in short supply.
