Farid “le Fou” is free

Farid Bamouhammad, 46, is free. He had been temporarily released for medical reasons, but left the Saint-Pierre hospital in Brussels a few days ago, several newspapers reported. The reason Farid Bomouhammad’s sentence is still suspended (he should have remained in prison until 2026) are not yet known, according to several Sudpresse papers.

Only the latest statements by Counsel Marc Newe might hold a clue. “We have new reports by experts that say my client cannot mentally cope with returning to prison”, he said to the press.

Farid Bomaouhammad will be able to share the end of year festivities with his family. He does, however, have to go before a judge in Liège on the 14th of January.
