Saint-Gilles - 3 men under arrest for violence against police

Three men have been placed under arrest and charged with armed rebellion after they assaulted police officers who had been called out to a house in Saint-Gilles after some windows had been broken on Friday. Two of the alleged attackers had chased off the police with a machete and a dog, Brussels public prosecutor's department said on Monday. The police were called out on Friday night after a window was broken at a house on Saint-Gilles' Faider Street. The owner of the house has a reputation for harbouring individuals who have been on the sticky side of the law. When the officers arrived at the scene, they were attacked by 24 men, two of which chased after them with a dog and a machete.

The police found knives and petrol bombs inside the house.
