A 59 year old woman died in suspicious circumstances in Anderlecht on Saturday evening, the Brussels Prosecutor’s Office said on Sunday. The woman was looking after her 20 month old granddaughter. The neighbours heard the baby crying for prolonged periods and decided to alert the baby’s mother. The younger woman found her dead in the bath.
She had drowned, but the exact circumstances of the death have not yet been determined. The Prosecutor’s Office thinks the death is suspicious, and has opened an inquiry.
