Jewish Museum attack - Mehdi Nemmouche to appear before the Council Chamber early February

Mehdi Nemmouche, the main suspect in the attack on the Brussels Jewish Museum, will appear again before the Council Chamber early in February. His lawyer, Sébastien Courtoy, said he address the case in further detail before the Council Chamber, including the second person wanted in connection with this case since January 16th. He declined to comment on the wanted notice recently published by the Federal Police in connection with the attack at the Brussels Jewish Museum on May 24th 2014 in which four people died.

The lawyer did however confirm that the “blurred out” individual next to the wanted person on the photo released by the police was indeed his client, Mehdi Nemmouche.

The photo shows two men walking side by side on Boulevard Albert II in Brussels, not far from the Gare du Nord train station where Mehdi Nemmouche bought a bus ticket to Marseille. The photo is a shot taken from a surveillance camera on May 28th 2014, four days after the attack on the Jewish Museum.

Lawyer Sébastien Courtoy announced that, for the time being, his client did not wish to comment on the person who was with him that day following the attack. But the lawyer said he would provide some information about it at the end of the next hearing before the Council Chamber, which is due to be held early next month.
