At Liège criminal court this Friday, the prosecutor requested 9 years in prison for the 54-year-old man who raped and sexually molested his own daughter and 5 boys. Admitting the facts, the suspect maintains he suffers from uncontrollable urges. A total of 17 charges were brought against him. The man committed the bulk of the offences on his own daughter over a 13-year period. From the age of 5 to 18 she was subjected to sexual acts which became increasingly serious and invasive and which may even constitute inhuman treatment.
Three times a week the man subjected his daughter to sexually violent acts, which, due to their nature, have left the girl with permanent damage. The girl tried to commit suicide three times after the abuse. The prosecutor emphasised that she had endured 13 years of what he described as horrific, extremely perverse acts.
The defendant is also charged with having sexually molested 5 young boys. He claims he suffers from an illness which makes him incapable of controlling his urges towards young children.
The prosecutor requested 9 years’ imprisonment. The court allowed the request of the defence attorney Mr. Zevenne, and asked for a report from an organisation specialising in sexual offenders in order to assess if the suspect may benefit from probation or not. The case is adjourned until September 4th.
