Brussels Airport: two men arrested with more than 4 kilos of cocaine

Two men were arrested at Zaventem Airport (Brussels Airport) on Saturday morning. They had 4.180 kilos of heroin hidden in their luggage. The suspects, a 43 year old British expat and a 42 year old Irishman, were handed over to judicial authorities, the Hal-Vilvorde Prosecutor’s office said on Saturday. It has called on an investigating judge that specialises in detention for importing hallucinogenic drugs. The two men arrived at Brussels Airport on board a flight from Ethiopia. They were arrested at around 9am by the airport’s customs services. The Hal-Vilvorde federal judicial police found 4.180 kilos of heroin hidden in the lining of their luggage. The drug’s packaging was covered with various strong smelling powders, including pepper and spices and curry. No doubt to try and trick the customs sniffer dogs in case they were searched.
