    Two youths arrested for a car-jacking after a car chase with police in Schaerbeek

    Two young men aged 18 and 19 have been arrested for a carjacking. The theft happened on the corner of rue du Palais and rue Rogier in Schaerbeek at 6.20am on Sunday. The Brussels-Nord police spokesman Roland Thiébault spoke about the arrests on Sunday. Both men were put before the Brussels Prosecutor’s office. The two perpetrators made a driver get out of his Opel Astra, and then took off with it. They were later spotted by a police patrol. After a car chase, the stolen car went into the back of a car parked on the Place Lehon in Schaerbeek. There were no casualties. One of the two perpetrators was picked up by the police at the scene of the accident. The second fled on foot, before being picked up at around 9.25 am. Both suspects are already known to police.
