Liège criminal court orders immediate arrest of ex-football player Hassan Ingin

Thirty-four-year-old former RFC Liège football player Hassan Ingin has been sentenced by Liège criminal court to 12 years’ imprisonment and is to be placed at the disposal of the Sentence Enforcement Court for a period of at least 8 years. He was ruled guilty of 3 rapes, one rape attempt, and 2 instances of battering of 6 young women who were attacked in broad daylight. The court requested his immediate arrest as he is currently hiding in Turkey.

RFC Liège forward had previously been sentenced to 7 years in prison for rape after he cruelly assaulted 2 women (aged between 40 and 50 years old) in 2001. Experts thought him a psychopath at the time.

He offended again when he left prison despite getting married and having a child. He attacked and raped one woman after forcing her to follow him from a bus stop to an isolated spot. He proceeded the same way for a string of attacks between 2009 and 2011.

A total of 6 women filed complaints against him after as many attacks, including 3 rapes under threat. Hassan Ingin is in hiding in Turkey and was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison and will be placed at the disposal of the Sentence Enforcement Court for a period of at least 8 years. His immediate arrest has been requested.
